| イベント詳細 | 発表者：Prof. Simon R. Poulson (Dept. Geological Sci., Univ. Nevada-Reno) Poulson 教授は英国ケンブリッジ大学自然科学科を卒業後、米国ペンシルバニア州立大学 Dept. of Geoscience で Ph.D を取得し、米国ダートマス大学などでのポスドク後、現在、米国ネバダ大学リノ校で環境地球化学、同位体地球化学などを研究・教育しています。英国と米国の大学・大学院で学んでいますので、西欧の教育について話していただきます。また、今年から EEP において、モデル授業を行うこととなり、皆さんに参加していただきますので、多数のご出席をお待ちしています。 Discussion is important in science to ensure and exchange ideas, and to promote learning. It is sometimes difficult for some scientists and students to discuss ideas, which may be due to personalities and/or possible fear of making mistakes. This talk will review personal experience of graduate educational systems in western universities (US, Britain), including how to encourage class discussion and student-teacher interaction. An example exercise will be conducted in class to illustrate the promotion of student discussion, and interest in scientific topics. |
